SKATE COMPETITION 2008 HAS BEEN CANCELLED! DUE TO SOME PERSONAL ISSUES AND NOT ENOUGH DONATIONS THE COMPETITION
HAS BEEN CANCELLED. HOWEVER, FOR THOSE THAT WANT TO ROCK IT NEXT YEAR CONTACT ME AND WE'LL SEE WHAT WE CAN DO.

you ready to BUST OUT???
For the first time ever...SkatePark Investors is coordinating two funfilled days of rocking, rolling and bustin' out.
We will be hosting a skatebording competition on Saturday, July 13th at noon, and in-line skating on Sunday, July 14th
at noon.
We need your help. We are looking for prize donations for the winners, for the crowd, and donations for the insurance
policy.
We need volunteer judges and crowd control.
We'd love to have some pros come out and tear it up. Also would love to have some bands come out and ROCK for us. Let
me remind you we are non-profit, but maybe we can work something out.
Thanks to all who have helped in the past, and who will help in the future because of you skating continues to create
new talent and keep the old begging for more!!!
It's December 2007, and we are getting ready to

7/16/07 CAN'T WAIT, CAN'T WAIT! SKATE COMPETITION
IN 2008!!!
Although, there will be no skate competition this year, I
just can't seem to let my baby go. Maybe, it's that this town could really be doing more for these kids and really should
be. And maybe if someone could, then maybe they should. So, regardless of whether or not I have the time, the money or the
energy I will be working my butt off to bring back the skate competitions with a vengence next year! So I need your help!
YES EVERYONE!! PARENTS, SKATERS, CITY, DONATIONS, ANYONE YOU CAN THINK OF! THINGS LIKE THIS BRING MONEY INTO COMMUNITIES,
INTO YOUR STORES, INTO YOUR ORGANIZATIONS, AND BRING HOPE INTO THE HEARTS OF CHILDREN. SO, THAT'S RIGHT THE SKATE PARK WILL
BE BUSTIN' OUT NEXT YEAR WITH THE FIRST OF HOPEFULLY, THE WAY TO MANY MORE SKATE COMPETITIONS.

The list is as follows: (remember this is nonprofit so we
won't be able to pay unless maybe lunch out or something).
~Exhibition groups (inline and skateboard)
~ donations of prizes(gift certificate for full pair of skates
AND full skateboard) t-shirts, stickers, videos, helmets, posters, shoes, sunglasses, something for males and females,
for multiage and sizes.
or money for the insurance premium which we're looking
at $500
~entertainment (bands or djs)
~Additional course equipment (ramps, rails)
~volunteer judges
~volunteers to help raise money and to help with public relations
~volunteers to go to council meetings
~volunteers to help with Fourth of July Float
~Skaters to be on the float and skating around the float
~Winners of the skate comp from previous years will be
on the float
Businesses that donate will have their business name and contact
information proudly displayed on the float and/or flyers that are passed out for the skate competition.
We're ready to bust out and rock it out! Are you? Help out
the cause that we've been trying to keep going since 1997 when it began!!
There will be NO skate competition this year-2007. I am sorry. I have
had so much going on in my life and not enough outside help. Hopefully, I can have another one next year,but we'll see. Until
next time keep bustin' out! However, if you want to see a bigger and better skate park or skate competition we need more involvement
from skaters and the community. Let me know if you'd like to help out so we can make next year's the best and biggest ever!!!
DESPITE THE FACT THAT THE COMPETITION WAS CANCELLED I STILL WENT TO THE
PARK AND CELEBRATED WITH THE SKATERS. WE DID HAVE SOME LOW KEY CONTESTS SO AS TO BE ABLE TO GIVE AWAY THE PRIZES THAT OUR
GREAT SPONSORS DONATED. See below for details:
Bud Hess ran over the competition in skateboarding, while Cody Harlan took away honorable mention. Hess received
a deck from Zumiez. A complete skateboard donated by Powell skateboards was raffled off and Kyle Mehling walked away
with it, happy as a clam. Seth and Timateo De La Cruz commanded every category of in-line because honestly no one else
was there. De La Cruz busted a misty flip for a certificate from In-Line Warehouse for new blades.
Everyone that competed received various DVDs from SkateParks USA and USD. They also received stickers, slippers
from Juggernaut and so much more. Thanks for all of the products.
We may not have had an official competition this year, with people in the crowd giving applause for favorites,
but next year will rock the park!
We have new plans already underway and many local businesses will be asked to join our cause. We have some
new recruits that will be joining our team and hopefully help to make the 10 year anniversary of skate comps in Molalla the
biggest and best yet. If anyone wants aboard, we could use your help, let me know.
